From a utility box in Glendale to the cover of the LA Times.
The Los Angeles Times reached out after seeing my work, including the Glendale utility box, and commissioned lettering for their Saturday print cover and web story header. The article was about the importance of spending time outdoors in Los Angeles.
The headline was provided. My job was to make it feel at home against the desert landscape rather than sitting on top of it. I pulled warm earth tones from the canyon rocks in the photo and let the lettering breathe within the composition. I delivered two versions: vertical for print and horizontal for web.
